Our Staff

Katy Hamilton - Funeral Director & Owner

Katy Hamilton, a Pine City native, is the daughter of Lee (Julie) Raudabaugh of Pine City and Robin (Gigi) Raudabaugh of Elk River. Katy graduated from Pine City High School in 1999. After high school she attended Hamline University and graduated with degrees in Criminal Justice, Anthropology, and Forensic Science. In the fall of 2005 she began classes in Mortuary Science at the University of Minnesota and graduated in August of 2006. She immediately began working as a funeral director, being shared only part time at Akkerman Ingebrand before becoming full time in 2008.

Katy and her husband Matt, a heavy equipment operator, call Day, MN their home. In her free time, Katy enjoys reading, watching movies, crafting, 4-wheeling, hunting, and spending time with her family and friends. Katy and Matt have no children, but have a Pomeranian named Cricket and two German Shorthair Pointers, Dice and Cash that they love.

Katy Hamilton is also a Certified Funeral Celebrant. A Funeral Celebrant is a professional who has been trained in the specific area of planning and conducting personalized funeral services, memorial services, celebrations of life, graveside services or tributes for families that desire a very personalized experience. While a Funeral Celebrant's expertise may be used in either faith-based or secular services, a Celebrant may be especially helpful to families that prefer a secular service. The Funeral Celebrant meets with a family and helps them to design a service that reflects the life and attributes of their loved one, and then conducts that service at a place of the families choosing.
