Richard Frank Evenson, of Rush City, formerly of Mora, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Fairview Lakes Hospital in Wyoming, MN.  He was 90 years old.

MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 23rd at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mora.

VISITATION will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. (one hour prior) to the service on Wednesday at the church.

MILITARY HONORS will be provided by the Mora American Legion Post 201.

INURNMENT will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Mora at a future date.

MEMORIALS are preferred in lieu of flowers to either the family or a charity of your choice.

Richard Frank Evenson, of Rush City, formerly of Mora, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at the Fairview Lakes Hospital in Wyoming, MN.

Richard was born on December 11, 1931 in Mora, Minnesota to Noris and Dora (Keil) Evenson.

He married Mary Hoffman on January 7th, 1956 in Orlando, FL.

Richard served in the United States Air Force as an airframe repairman and sheet metal aircraft worker. He later enjoyed positions at Pratt Whitney and Northwest Airlines, Onan, sales positions with Federated and Northwest LP Gas, and as an entrepreneur of several small businesses.

Richard was a member of the American Legion, enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing, and was an avid gardener. He enjoyed sharing the harvest from his gardens with family and friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Doris Sizer, Dorothy Freeman, Billie Reed, Shirley Paulson, Noris, Vernon, and David.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Mary; children, Carrie Knutson, Rickie (Shelley), Laurie (David) Lorence, Kimmie (James) Leschak, Randie (Joelle), and Trixie (Lance) Dalbey; 19 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Betty, Sally, and Janelle Evenson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

  1. Will miss my good friend. Neighbor at Mille Lacs. Great goose hunting with my dog libby. Ice fishing. And time with all his builds. Dick always put his friends first. We loved spending times with him and Mary.

  2. I worked with Dick at the NWLP Gas office out of Bethel, MN. He was a good salesman, he kept us busy. He could tell a good joke, we shared a lot of laughs, he was a good guy.
