Monica Marie Voss passed away and went home to be with Jesus on November 26, 2021 due to complications from COVID-19 at the St Cloud Hospital. She was 40 years old.

Monica was born to Larry and Diane (Brooks) Hannu on December 27, 1980. She graduated from Mora High School in 1999. She met her high school sweetheart, Jeremy Voss while working at the Mustang Steakhouse in Mora (former Pizza Pub building). She married Jeremy in Mora at St Mary’s Catholic Church on February 17, 2001. Monica and Jeremy have been married for 20 years this year. They have four children- Faith Voss-Paulson (20), twin daughters Grace and Hope Voss (17), and a son Isaiah (15).

Monica pursued her passion of working with children by attending Rasmussen College for Childcare. She spent many years being a Preschool and Toddler Teacher at various Child Care Centers as well as the YMCA. When Jeremy and Monica moved back to Ogilvie; Monica pursued her second love of working with special needs children as a Para-Professional Teacher at Ogilvie Public Schools until her death. She absolutely loved going to the school everyday to help the kids she worked with. Monica would get excited every year during racing season watching Nascar Racing and cheering for Kyle Larson as well as watching dirt track racing at Ogilvie Raceway. She also loved attending all of Isaiah’s athletic events as well as having “girl time” with her daughters.

Monica is preceded in death by her favorite uncle Ron Murdock, grandparents Pat and Donna Whiteford, George and Geraldine Brooks.

She is survived by her husband, Jeremy Voss, daughters Faith (Brandon) Voss-Paulson, Hope and Grace Voss, son Isaiah Voss, parents Larry and Diane Hannu, sister Tammy (Gary) Shaw; niece Selena Shaw; parents-in-law Dennis (Roseann) Voss; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jessica Bos, Jake Voss, Sara (Clint) Metz, and Tamara (Mike) Ostervoss; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.

  9. I don’t have proper words, mostly speechless. Monica is my first cousin, only a few weeks apart in age. Every trip from Texas to my Grandparents house on Railroad Ave included the short trip to hang out with her, and every trip since. To this day I jokingly call muffins muffings with a G after you thought it was funny to catch me not using the G in words like fixin’, goin’, doin’ and sleepin’ and with perfect timing Grandma was gonna make muffins and I was like, “…how about those huh?”…..I think we were about 8 or 9. I am heartbroken and I send my heartfelt prayers and love to Jeremy and the kids as well as my Uncle and Aunt. I will miss you.
