Larry Kurschner, of North Branch, passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2021.  He was 82 years old.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE & INURNMENT will be held at 12:30 pm on Friday, August 13, 2021 at the Calvary Lutheran Cemetery at Rush Point.

Larry Franklin Kurschner of North Branch, formerly of Forest Lake, St. Paul, Grandy, Prairie Farm, and Ridgeland; passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2021. He was 82 years old.

Larry was born on September 2, 1938 to Frank and Lorna (Barbender) Kurschner on his Kurschner grandparents’ farm in Prairie Farm, Wisconsin.

Larry met Carol Leaf on August 1, 1958 in Grandy and the couple was married four months later on December 20, 1958.

In 1962, Carol and Larry moved to St. Paul to operate a board and care facility for the elderly and Larry’s father. Later, they moved to another home in St. Paul. Over the years, the couple helped 21 MS and MR residents, took care of many foster children, and raised five children of their own.

Larry worked for Yellow Freight, Wallace, and Ferguson Trucking over the years. He was a union man for the teamsters local 120 and the 49ers International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Larry was also a member of the Eagles Club.

Larry loved his family very much. He loved his birds, Buddy, Kitty, and Baldy and many others. He enjoyed tending to his gardens and flowers, and mowing the lawn. He like going to the VFW for bingo, meat raffle, pull tabs, and scratchers.

Most of all, Larry loved his wife Carol, his children, grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed. Now he is resting in peace with the love of life Carol.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Carol; and brothers Gary and Robert.

He is survived by sons: Dale (Vickie), Keith (Denise), Rory, and Tony (Claudia); daughter, Tami (Eric) Schell; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sister Judy (Able) Ruise; sister-in-law Diane Kurschner; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
