Lorene was born December 26, 1937, in Santiago, MN to Ward A & Frances K (Pozorski) DeLong. She was one of eight children. She lived in the Gilman area, and then moved to Washington state for a time, before returning to Brook Park where she graduated from Pine City High School. She married Thomas George McClellan on May 10, 1958. To this union four children were born. They lived in several places including Colorado, South Dakota, Isanti, and Ogilvie; before settling on the farm northeast of Mora where they lived for 56 years. She was a stay-at-home mom for most of her children’s younger years. She then worked for Ben Franklin. In later years she also worked for Mary Smith Accounting and Roman Miller Insurance Agency before retiring.

She was a 4-H Leader, taught CCD, and was active in St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She loved gardening: both vegetable and flowers. She loved being outdoors, birdwatching and spending time with her family. She enjoyed a variety of arts and crafts.

She is also survived by her brother Richard DeLong of Georgia, sister-in-law Joyce DeLong of Wisconsin, and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by these and many other relatives and friends.

  1. My prayers are with Lorriane and family. Thank you for allowing me to attend the her funeral via Facebook. I have great memories of my aunt and uncle. Love, Donna Rhyne

  2. Dear Chuck, Dan, Tim and Terry,
Thank you for arranging to share this beautiful mass with those of us who were not able to be there. You were so thoughtful in your selection for the readings, music and flowers. “On Eagles Wings” was so lovely, it touched my heart.

Dan, Barbara told me you made the beautiful wooden urn for your Mom, as well as, one for your Dad. What a wonderful way to honor them by sharing your special talent and gift. The flowers surrounding the urn reminded me of your Mom’s flower garden, as did the display of seeds. They were a lovely reminder of her life on the farm and her love of flowers. God bless you all.
    John & Beth
