A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be planned for a future date at St. Mary’s Catholic church in Mora.

Lorene Alice (DeLong) McClellan of Brook Park, MN, passed away at St. Clare’s on February 16, 2021. She was 83 years old.

Lorene was born December 26, 1937, in Santiago, MN to Ward A & Frances K (Pozorski) DeLong. She was one of eight children. She lived in the Gilman area, and then moved to Washington state for a time, before returning to Brook Park where she graduated from Pine City High School. She married Thomas George McClellan on May 10, 1958. To this union four children were born. They lived in several places including Colorado, South Dakota, Isanti, and Ogilvie; before settling on the farm northeast of Mora where they lived for 56 years. She was a stay-at-home mom for most of her children’s younger years. She then worked for Ben Franklin. In later years she also worked for Mary Smith Accounting and Roman Miller Insurance Agency before retiring.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children Charles (Judy) McClellan, Dan (Karen) McClellan, Theresa (Russ) Magaard, and Timothy (Jodie Johnson) McClellan; grandchildren, Jeff, Nick (Renee), Brianne, Scott, Duncan, Ian, Jon, and Colin; and great grandchildren, Henry and Violet. She is also survived by her brother Richard DeLong of Georgia, sister-in-law Joyce DeLong of Wisconsin, and many nieces and nephews. 3. Dear Chuck, Dan, Terry, Tim, and Extended Family,
Losing your Mother is very hard, and especially so soon after your Father passed away. We always looked forward to visiting Aunt Lorene and Uncle Tom whenever we have been able to visit Minnesota. We hope we’ll be able to visit Minnesota again in the foreseeable future and see you then as well.
With love, Trisha and Tom Reeves, Athens, Georgia

  4. Chuck,Dan, Terry,& Tim,
I was sorry to hear about your Mother’s passing. I enjoyed Lorene over many years of visiting the farm. She& your
Dad Tom, exhibited their love for each other often & their
work ethic together was part of that mutual love.
It’s difficult to lose both parents so close together. However
find some comfort knowing they are in each other’s arms now, and their together forever!
    My sympathy,
    Peggy Swanson & family
