Daryl Carl Kunz Sr. passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at his home in Ogilvie. He had family by his side as God started taking him to a pain free life. He was 77 years old.

Daryl “Fiddler” was born in Pine Island, MN on June 13, 1943 to Robert and Millicent (Knudson) Kunz. On September 24, 1981, he married Joyce Jaunice Tilley in Plainview, Texas. Before marrying, they had dated for about 4 months; they met at a meat packing plant. They have been married for 39 years. He was a very loving, caring, protective husband, dad, papa (grandpa). He was always ready and willing to help family whenever he could. He is the 3rd oldest out of 7 siblings. If you’re wondering how he got the nickname “Fiddler,” well siblings gave it to him because every time he would take something apart to see how it works, he would then never put it back together.

He was a truck driver and welder in his adulthood. He loved spending time with his wife, kids and grandbabies. He loved puzzles, horses, dogs, deer, hunting, fishing, and just riding around watching for deer and looking at the scenery with his wife and sometimes with the grandbabies.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Millicent Kunz, son, Jim Kunz, and brothers, Harland and Donnie Kunz.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce of Ogilvie; children, Annette (Brent) of Alaska, Jeanette (Joe) of Harris, Jaunice (Jeff) of Ogilvie, Roger (Tami) of Mora, Tim (Lisa) of Rush City, John (Shelly) of Ogilvie, Daryl Jr. (Cassie) of Ogilvie; 20 grandkids; 14 great grandkids; siblings, Dave (Cindy) of Spring valley, Jen (Carroll) of Lindstrom, Lois of Ogilvie, Elaine of Milaca; plus many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He will be majorly missed by all. Memories that we have all made with this loving, caring, ornery, funny man will be in our heart forever.
