Donna Stromberg, of Hinckley, formerly of Mora, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at the Elderwood of Hinckley.  She was 83 years old.

FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 19, 2020 at the Akkerman Ingebrand Funeral Home in Mora with Pastor Karen Lewis officiating.

VISITATION will be held one hour prior to the service.

INTERMENT will be at the Braham Mission Covenant Cemetery.

Donna Jane Stromberg of Mora, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Elderwood Senior Living in Hinckley. She was 83 years old.

Donna was born on March 16, 1937 in Braham, MN to Carl T. and Elise (Soderstrom) Nelson. She was the 3rd of 7 children. She attended the Day country school until the 4th grade when the family moved to their farm in Ogilvie. She graduated from Ogilvie High School in May of 1956.

On July 28, 1956, Donna wed Marvin Stromberg at the Methodist Church in Mora. To this union, 3 children were born. Donna and Marvin made their home just south of Mora to raise their family. Once the children were in school, Donna went back to work, first at the Holiday Grocery Store and later at Mora Drug/Coborns where she worked as a pharmacy tech until she retired.

Donna was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mora where she taught Sunday school for many years. Donna loved spending time with her family and friends. She was always ready and willing to help others whenever needed. Donna always enjoyed working out in her flower gardens and keeping her yard looking beautiful. In later years, she and Marvin enjoyed camping in their motorhome. Donna loved music and even as her memory faded with dementia, she stilled remembered all the words to her favorite songs.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents; husband Marvin; brother Carl T. (Jenny) Nelson Jr.; sister-in-law Marlene Nelson; and brothers-in-law, John Beeuwsaert and Joe Boerma.

Donna is survived by her children, Gary (Pam) of Isanti, Lori (Terry) Haavisto of Hinckley, and Craig of Mora; 8 grandchildren, Alyssa, Jessica (Mark), Nicholas (Erica), Matthew, Jacob, Courtney (Brock), Reed (Carrie), and Brandon; 9 great-grandchildren, Blake, Owen, Olivia, Grayson, Haylee, Braylen, Kaylee, Christen, and Carsen; brothers, Clayton (Char) Nelson and Donald Nelson; sisters, Judy (Marty) DeBoer, Janice (Jack) Gallmeier, and Marlene Beeuwsaert; plus nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
