Dennis L. Lamprecht, formerly of Ogilvie, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at the Elk River Senior Living in Elk River, MN.  He was 86 years old.

MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 23, 2020 at the Akkerman Ingebrand Funeral Home in Mora with Pastor Dean Oelfke officiating.

MEMORIAL VISITATION will be held 1 hour prior to the service.

INURNMENT will be in the Wendell Hill Cemetery in rural Bock.

Dennis Leo Lamprecht, formerly of Ogilvie, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Elk River Senior Living. He was 86 years old.

Dennis Leo Lamprecht was born July 13, 1934 at Milaca, Minnesota to Walter and Anna (Hill) Lamprecht. When he was one year old, the family moved to a farm in Kanabec County near Ogilvie where he resided his entire lifetime. He attended country school through the eighth grade and graduated from Ogilvie High School in 1952. Dennis attended St. Cloud State College and later returned back home to own and operate the farm he was raised on until his retirement.

Dennis was a school bus driver for the Ogilvie Schools, from which he retired in 1973. From 1969 through 1981 Dennis served on the board of directors of L.V.O. Corp. of Tulsa, Oklahoma; also serving on the board of United Cable Television Corp. of Tulsa until 1980 when the company was sold. In 1980 Dennis was one of the founders of Tri County Broadcasting Corp. in which he served as a director and vice president. In 1971 Dennis was elected director of the American Dairy Assn. of Minnesota and served in that capacity until 1981. From 1972-1981 he was on the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Agri-Growth Council.

In 1988 Dennis was united in marriage to Jeanette Kleven at Calvary Lutheran Church in Mora. They went on to own and operate several businesses in Mora and surrounding areas. In 2005 they retired to their farm and home in Southfork Township and pursued their lifelong dream of raising buffalo.

Dennis was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was member of Calvary Lutheran Church of Mora.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Jeanette “Jan”; brother Larry; and sister Elaine.

Dennis is survived by his sisters-in-law Joan Lamprecht of Champlin and Janice Kleven of Mora; brother-in-law Roger Gillette of Minneapolis; plus many other relatives and friends.
