Gabriel (Koch) Hannan, of Cambridge, formerly of Mora, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. She was 21 years old.
Gabriel “Gabi” Mariah Koch was born on the family farm on February 12, 1999. She enjoyed running around the farm taking care of the animals with her siblings. She attended Hinckley elementary School through the third grade. In 2005 she moved to Quamba and began attending the Mora Area Schools in 4th grade. She was in Choir, Volleyball, Robotics, Golf, and FFA. She liked to babysit occasionally and worked at Twister Inc. for a few years during high school. She took several years of piano lessons and would occasionally play for church and summer Bible camp. She also was involved with the local 4-H and loved shooting sports.
During summers she enjoyed playing softball with her church families, volunteering at the county fair, and enjoyed riding in the milk truck when she could.
She graduated from Mora High school in 2017. After high school she attended the U of M Morris campus hoping to become a Veterinarian. She enjoyed being in the horse club and having her horse at campus with her.
Gabi loved the Lord Jesus and served him well. She was active in church, youth group, attended and volunteered at Evergreen Bible Camp for many years where she met Mark, who would become the love of her life. Mark and Gabi started dating in July 2016 and were married at Grindstone Lake Bible Camp on May 25th, 2019. She loved him dearly and would share that with anyone she could. They lived in Cambridge where she worked for Lifetime Steel Roof inc. and Kohl’s. They loved being together, going to softball games, cooking & eating, long boarding, ice skating, playing games, doing puzzles, going camping, listening to music, being weird together, shooting guns, and playing broomball together.
She didn’t care much about what she was doing as long as she got to be with the people she loved and was always helping in whatever way she could. Gabi loved spending time with her family and friends, often bringing board games and cards to play. She never missed an opportunity to talk about what was ahead. She had a special way of making everyone around her feel loved and as always ready with a bit of humor when it was truly needed. She is loved dearly and will always be missed greatly by everyone who knew her.
Gabi is preceded in death by her grandfather Clinton Whited, grandmother Vera Koch, aunt Shirley LaDuke, sisters, Arianna and Charity Koch, and nephew Weston Koch.
