AKKERMAN INGEBRAND FUNERAL HOME – MORA

Gary Sandberg, of Mora, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2020 at Welia Health in Mora.  He was 68 years old.

In keeping with Gary’s wishes, no services will be held.

Gary Lyle Sandberg was born on December 21, 1951 to Earl and Isabelle “Izzy” (Sandeen) Sandberg. He grew up in Grasston, MN and remained in the area all of his life.

He married Mary Kronschnable in 1975, they had two children; son, Chad who lives in Missouri and daughter, Tina, who died in infancy. Gary and Mary divorced and he married Amy Evenson a few years later. They had three children; son, Matthew and daughters, Alyssa and Kaitlin.

Gary and Amy lived just north of Mora. Gary worked hard all his life, providing for his family.

He passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2020 at the Welia Hospital at the age of 68 after a two year struggle with cancer.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Tina.

He is survived by his son Chad; wife Amy; son Matthew; daughters, Alyssa and Kaitlin; brother Michael and sisters, Debbie and Denise.

  1. Cousins are our first friends, the first people we learn what we can get away with and how to have fun. Lord knows we had many good time and probably caused a little bit of trouble in our day. Gary I’m sure was an instigator as he was a bit older then me, so of course it would be funny to play the practical jokes on us younger ones. I do know I had a blast as a kid with all of my cousins, and Gary will be missed. Rest in peace, I’ll be seeing you again one day.

  2. We grew up together all of us Sandeen cousins played in the snake river spent our summers together at one of the many family farms as we grew our lives went separate ways but we never forget our childhood and the many memories we have of them. R.I.P. dear cousin we will meet again one day 🙏💕
