Sherry Susan Ruckle, of Ogilvie, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 7, 2020.  She was 66 years old.

A Celebration of Sherry’s life will be held at a future date.

Sherry Susan Ruckle, of Ogilvie, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 7, 2020. She was 66 years old.

Sherry was born on July 28, 1953 in Crookston, Minnesota to parents Anthony and Blanche (Sauve) DeLage.

On April 19, 1995, Sherry was united in marriage to Sheldon Ruckle in Mora, Mn. They made their home in Ogilvie, where Sherry loved to fish and tend to her gardens. She enjoyed canning the vegetables she grew and was an amazing cook (the spicier the better). Sherry and Sheldon cherished the friendships they made with their neighbors that became like family to them. Sherry’s love and compassion for all animals could be seen by the numerous pets and strays she took in and cared for over the years. She will be dearly missed.

Sherry is survived by her husband Sheldon; step-daughter Janice Fitzsimmons of Wabasha; siblings, Larry (Linda) DeLage of Crookston, Joe DeLage of Grand Forks, ND, Faye Miller of Cape Coral, FL, Richard (Linda) DeLage of Cambridge, Barbara DeLage of Minneapolis; and Lois (Vern) Losse of Pine Creek; Sherry’s beloved babies, China and Lou; as wells as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, loving neighbors, and friends.

The family would like to give a huge thank you to the Kanabec County Sheriff’s department for the kindness and compassion they have shown in locating and caring for Sherry and her family at this time.

  1. I met Sherry in 2003 when she sold me the best Boston ever- “Lily.” We had a really fun day together along with Sheldon who wasn’t sure he could give up the litter-favorite with the spot on her head, but he did because I think Sherry’d already spent the money! Ha. Though I did not get to see Sherry but once more after that, it resulted in my becoming good friends with her sister Barb and for that I am so grateful. One did not need more than an afternoon with Sherry to see her love of life, love of family, and huge heart to help those that might need a little kindness, whether two or four-legged! Sherry, you leave behind many broken hearts which can only happen when you were loved so very much I know.
Peace to her family and friends at this time.

  2. Sherry was a beautiful soul and will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to Sheldon during this difficult time. The Berg Family is here if you ever need anything!

  3. I miss you sis. I’ll always remember the last time we got to visit and you packed us a lunch (cornbeef sandwiches and fresh corn on the cob. unexpectable the car broke down and we had our lunch along the highway. Love you sis.
