Charles Young, of Mora, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at his home.  He was 60 years old.

A CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be held at a future date.

INTERMENT was in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Brunswick.

Charles “Charlie” Henry Young, of Mora, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at his home. He was 60 years old.

Charlie was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on June 30, 1959 to parents Harold and Marguerite (Melgard) Young. They lived in St. Paul until Charlie was 9 years old before moving to Grasston. In January of 1978 his family moved into Mora.

After Charlie turned 18 in 1977, he joined the US Army in 1978 and spent most of his Army life stationed in Germany. He came home in July 1981 and met the love of his life, Sandra “Sandy” Nelson. They were married on July 14, 1984. In July 2019, Charlie & Sandy celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary.

He loved golfing and worked and played golf at the Spring Brook Golf Course in Mora as often as he could. He loved his wife Sandy and their families.

Charlie was preceded in death by his father Harold Young, brother Steven Young, stepfather William Fennell & mother Marguerite Fennell.

Charlie is survived by his wife Sandy; sisters Patricia “Patty” (Michael) Bina of Prattville, AL, Debra “Debbie” (Daryl) Onasch of Mora, Cassandra “Gussy” (Greg) Strohkirch of Braham; brother Richard Young of Inver Grove Heights; as well as many cousins, nephews and nieces and their families. He was loved by his family and friend and will be missed by all.

  1. Sandy and Family, So sorry to here about Chuck. My sympathies to you and the family. He was a classmate of mine from 6th grade on. Will be missed.

  3. Sandy and family so sorry to hear of your loss. My prayers are with you all. I will always remember Charlie’s smile and what a nice man he was. He always had kind words Scott and I. My first memory of Charlie was playing beer ball! I was 12 when I started playing, he was always smiling and laughing! Such a good guy! He will be missed!
