Genelle Marie Wolf of Mora, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Welia Hospital in Mora. She was 75 years old.

Genelle was born on July 4, 1944 to Leo & Barbara (Bruner) Sublet in Missouri Valley, Iowa. In 1948, she moved with her family to a farm southeast of Mora, MN. Growing up, she actively worked on the farm, milking cows and driving tractor. Genelle was also in 4-H and showed her cows at the MN State Fair. She graduated from Mora High School in 1962.

Genelle raised three boys… Mark, Wayne & David. She was a hard worker and at times, worked multiple jobs to support her boys, of which bartending was her favorite.

In 1990, Genelle married Roman “Romie” Wolf on the shores of Mille Lacs Lake. She loved camping and fishing with Romie and the rest of their family. One of her favorite sayings was…”If you weren’t catching fish, maybe you’re jiggin’ stupid!” Next to fishing, she enjoyed gardening, feeding the birds, crocheting and in her earlier years, playing softball, and bowling in a league. Genelle will be dearly missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents Leo & Barb and husband Romie.

She is survived by her children, Mark Prokosch of Astor, FL., Wayne Prokosch and wife Karie of Pepin, WI., and Dave Prokosch and wife Darsey of Mora, MN; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Patricia Bergmeier of Conyers, GA., Geraldine Wicklund of Spartanburg, SC., and Julie Hayes of Phoenix, AZ; as well as her step-children, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

  1. Genelle was a very special lady! She raised three great men and family that loved her generously! My condolences to all her family and friends.

  2. My Deepest Condolences to Genelle’s Family. I’ve known Genelle for many years. She and my mom were good friends when I was a young child. That’s when Mark and I first became friends. Everytime I would see her she’d ask how I was doing. She’ll be greatly missed!! Sending my prayers to all of her family.

  3. So sorry to hear this, she was a fun fun lady, her and my mom (Joanne Carroll) were friends and bowled back in the day, I can still hear her laugh, and always had that smile.
    Hugs to the family.
