Alan Kemp, of Mora, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at his home. He was 62 years old.

A private family service will be held in West Virginia in the Summer of 2020.

Alan Scott Kemp, of Mora, MN passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2020. He was 62 years old.

Alan was born on August 9, 1957 in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia to Richard and Bonnie (Shade) Kemp. He grew up in West Virginia and in Germany while his dad was in the Army. After his dad died, his mother remarried Bob Tyler and he lived in several places throughout the south, including Florida and Alabama. He graduated high school while serving in the U.S. Army in the 101st Airborne.
He met Kristilynn Kacon while working in a print shop in Lilburn, Georgia. They married while Kris was home on leave from the Army on May 1, 1991 in Lawrenceville, Georgia. They had three children; Kaitlynn, William and Johnathon. They moved to Minnesota in 1995 where Alan learned what ice fishing is. He worked several construction jobs over the years, including concrete, millwright and laborer. He most enjoyed working at Nuclear Power Plants and traveling around the country, Puerto Rico and Venezuela. He retired from O’Rielly’s as a driver in 2019.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking and sports of all kinds; especially watching his kids play high school sports.
Alan is survived by his wife Kris of Mora; children Katie (Mike), Will and Jack; brothers Robert (Juanita) Tyler,’ David (Melanie) Tyler and Bobby (Gayle) Tyler; plus nieces, nephews and other relatives.

  1. Kris and family, I am so sorry to hear this. I am sorry we haven’t stayed in touch over the years. Treasure the memories. I remember my kids calling him Alan Jackson when they were little. I’m available if you want to get together. Take care.
