Donald Mansfield, of Mora, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the Minneapolis VA Hospital.  He was 70 years old.

GATHERING OF FAMILY & FRIENDS will be held from 3:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at the Akkerman Ingebrand Funeral Chapel in Mora.

A TIME OF REMEMBRANCE will be held at 4:30 p.m.

INURNMENT will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Donald Lee Mansfield, of Mora, was taken home on November 9, 2019. He was 70 years old.

Donald was born in Sioux City, Iowa on February 21, 1949 and moved to Mora as a child. He attended Mora High School where he was an overall good student, excelling in mathematics and graduating in 1967. He enlisted in the United States Army from June 1967 to February 1971. He served both stateside and a tour in Vietnam where he was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Sharp Shooter Medal. When he returned from the service he attended Pine Technical College studying accounting and bookkeeping.

In his later years Donald’s greatest joy and happiness came from his 3 grand nephews, Blayke, Brayden and Brettly Brambach and their mother Lisa, his 4 cats, great friends and Vikings football. He loved to play dominos, cards and dice. Donald was a good man and had a great sense of humor.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents; his father Edward and his mother Loretta.

He is survived by his siblings Alan (Debbie) Mansfield of Coon Rapids, Arlan Bertilson, Dave (Margie) Bertilson, Carla (Wally) Dochow, Lori (Dan) Grunke all of Mora, Betsy Seide of NY, Carol Bertilson of Princeton, Jeff Bertilson of Mpls, and Lynne Krech of Blaine; many nieces, nephews and friends, including longtime friends and roommates Bob Ruport, Susan and Matt Brambach.
