Florence M. Rask, formerly of Braham and Mora Minnesota, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2019 at GracePointe Crossing in Cambridge. She was 90 years old.
Florence was born to parents Ben and Jennie (Robyn) Miedema on June 17, 1929 near Ogilvie, MN. She was raised on a farm with her brothers and sisters and loved being a farm girl helping her father.
At 17, she met and fell in love with Lloyd Lindquist at Fish Lake in Mora. She became a part of a fabulous extended family and to this union came 8 children. The family lived in Mora where Florence raised her family and studied to become a nurse. She became a LPN and started her career at Cambridge State Hospital where she would work for 30+ years before retiring. This career was truly her passion and she was very proud of her accomplishments.
Lloyd died in 1974 when she was only 44 years old. Her next chapter began when she met and married Willie Rask of Braham. They enjoyed 37 years together traveling, enjoying cabin life, and going to auctions. After Willie passed away, Florence moved to St. Clare’s Community Living in Mora where she could be closer to her children and their families. She enjoyed her years there very much and participated in activities with her new friends, whom she loved very much. The highlights of her days were the visits from the grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her great-great grandchildren. They always made her smile.
In February of 2019 after too many falls, she moved to GracePointe Crossing in Cambridge where she again loved all her caregivers.
Her church families including Siloa in Braham and Quamba Baptist in Mora were very important to her and she embraced her love of the Lord amidst their love. Her bucket list was complete with her faith, family, and friends. She lived, she loved, she laughed, she left. To God be the glory.
