AKKERMAN INGEBRAND FUNERAL HOME – MORA

Dolores Mathison, of Mora, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at the FirstLight Health System in Mora.  She was 89 years old.

MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at the Calvary Lutheran Church  with Rev. Dean Oelfke officiating.

MEMORIAL VISITATION will be held 1 hour prior to the service on Sunday.

INURNMENT will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Mora.

Dolores Elaine (Krogh) Mathison, passed away peacefully at FirstLight Health Care System in Mora, Minnesota on Wednesday, August 7, 2019. She was 89 years old.

Dolores was born on July 10, 1930 at home in Hillman Township in Mora, Minnesota to Soren and Mary (Zugsworth) Krogh. She was confirmed into the Christian faith at Calvary Lutheran Church in Mora, Minnesota. Dolores grew up with her 9 siblings on their family farm in Hillman Township and attended Wilkins School through 8th grade. She graduated from Mora High School in 1948. After graduation, she moved to St. Cloud, Minnesota with her younger sister.

On April 3, 1951, she was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Kenneth E. Mathison. From this union they were blessed with two children, Pamela Jean and Lynn Bryan. After they were married, they moved to Fort Campbell, Kentucky and lived there while Kenneth served in the Army. After Kenneth completed his service in the Army, they moved to Hudson, Wisconsin. In 1956, Dolores returned to Mora, Minnesota where she lived for the duration of her life. Dolores took pride in being a housewife and mother, as well as working at Fingerhut in Mora and at Yes Bay Lodge in Alaska.

Dolores loved to travel, have fun, adventures, joke around, and to spend time with her family. She enjoyed flower gardens and growing beautiful violets.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents; husband Kenneth; son Lynn; brothers, Soren, Ellsworth and Gustav Krogh; sisters, Gudrun Josephson, Alberta Bernett, Marie Habeck, Hilda Kacon, and Evangeline Morell.

She is survived by her daughter Pamela (Rick) Mattson; grandchildren, Kari Mattson, Kris (Alice) Mattson, Kenneth (Jeanne) Mattson and Kinsey (Brent) Folkema; great-grandchildren, Emma Rae and Brock Eric Folkema, Skylar Rae, Jamison Stanley, Eldin Luke, Soryn Ellis, and Iley Greta Mattson; sister-in-laws Ellen Regan and Lois Mathison; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

  2. This woman grew on me so fast. I was blessed to be able to know her and sit and talk to her. Sharing laughs and smiles. She has such a huge spot in my heart. Thoughts and prayers to everyone, she will never be forgotten.
