Kenneth Ellis Krotz, of the Coin area, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at the First Light Health System in Mora. He was 90 years old.
On March 10, 1929, Kenneth was born the 5th of 7 children to Charles and Effie (Broehl) Krotz in Bismarck, North Dakota. At the age of 11, Kenneth moved with his family to Minnesota and attended grade school at Coin and then graduated from Mora High School. Kenneth lived all his life on the same farm at Coin, leaving from 1953-1955, when he served in the Army. Together with his brother Eldon, they raised dairy cattle for many years and then beef cattle before they put the whole farm into alfalfa a few years ago. They were a great team and built from nothing into a good working farm. Kenneth lovingly took care of Eldon at home when he was failing and before that they both took care of their mother when her health was failing. Kenneth was still planning to farm the hay ground this upcoming summer, when his heart began to fail a few months ago. He passed away at the Mora hospital, where he got excellent care.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents Charles (1950) and Effie (1999); siblings, Roland (1991), Doris (1996), Walter (1996), Harvey (2000), Eldon (2015), and Mary (2016).
He is survived by 12 nieces and nephews, 21 great nieces and nephews, and 29 great great nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.
