JEFFERY E. OLSON JR.

Jeffery Olson, of Mora, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at his home.  He was 46 years old.

A benefit and celebration of Jeff’s life will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019, at 4:00 pm at Fish Lake Resort (674 Fish Lake Dr, Mora, MN 55051). Cash or check donations may be made at the benefit or at Neighborhood National Bank payable to Christa Olson or Angel Olson.

Jeffery Edward Olson Jr., loving husband and devoted father, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019 at his home in Mora, Minnesota, surrounded by his family and close friends. He was 46 years old.

Born in Ontonagon, Michigan, Jeff’s life was infused with much joy and an abundance of laughter. He was very dedicated to his mother and sister. Even at a young age he took watching out for them very seriously. Jeff joined the military with pride at 18 and served in the Army Airborne, Army reserves and the National Guard. He married his soul mate and love of his life, Christa, on August 2nd, 1997, in Forest Lake, Mn. This loving marriage brought three beautiful children into the world, of whom he was deeply proud.

Jeff had a great talent for what he called “doodles” but were in fact impressive works of art. His favorite pastimes were drawing, vacationing in upper Michigan and creating Dungeon and Dragons campaigns. His talent for creating quests brought his children, wife, and friends together for amazing adventures that would last entire weekends.

Jeff was a collector of many things, finding wonder and value in even the most insignificant item. This penchant for life made him an amazing friend and a dedicated husband and father. All who knew him couldn’t help but become inspired by the joy that seemed to flow from him. When he walked into a room he was instantly the center of attention; a beacon of sunlight all would be drawn to. Called “Happy” at work, he would spread his infectious joy by singing and joking with all his coworkers. He was a man of many hats; from a felt fedora, to a pirate’s hat, (and once a kilt) one never knew what he might be sporting. A devoted Lions fan, he never gave up hope for an amazing win. It was this exuberance for all things that we will miss most about Jeff. Though he may be gone, none of us will ever be the same, as his imprint on our lives has made us all better people for knowing and loving him.

He is preceded in death by his daughter Autumn (Tyler Rutt).

He is survived by his wife, Christa, children Angel (Jeremy Harder) and Daniel, mother Nancy Holmes, father Jeff Olson Sr., sister Jennifer Woehrle (Bill), uncle Bruce Olson, father and mother-in-law Richard and Holly Larson, and many family and friends.
