Marvin L. Thomsen, of Mora, formerly of Pipestone, passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at his home. He was 96 years old.

INURNMENT & MILITARY HONORS will be held in the summer of 2019 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Marvin L. Thomsen, of Mora, formerly of Pipestone, passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at his home. He was 96 years old.

Marvin is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Rasmine, and wife Violet.

Survived by children, Tom (Marilyn), Deb, Sue (Kai), and Vicky (Al); 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

  2. I am sorry to hear that my favorite cousin, Marvin, passed away. He was a helpful, kind person. I had a good time in Tyler when we played with Orville and Marvin as kids. He was good about calling me over the years. Marvin was a good friend. I will miss him always.

  3. Uncle Marvin will be missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing him. He was a kind and gentle man – a role model for many people. I will miss his sense of humor, his big smile.

  4. I remember Marvin when his family lived in Ihlen, MN. He always had a smile on his face, kind and loving family man. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

  5. My heart goes out to all of the Thomsen family, I grew up with them when they lived in Ihlen Minn. Vicky it has been so long ago, hope all is well with you and your family. May God be with all of you during this time.

  6. MARVIN THOMSEN WAS OUR FFA ADVISOR AND AG INSTRUCTOR HERE IN DODGE CENTER MINNESOTA IN THE 1950’S. HE WAS A GREAT TEACHER AND OVER THE PAST 60 SOME YEARS A VERY GOOD FRIEND. HE WAS DOWN HERE FOR 3 REALLY GREAT PARTIES, 2 CLASS REUNIONS AND A BIG 90TH BIRTHDAY PARTLY. EVERYONE ENJOYED SEEING HIM. HIS MEMORY WAS FANTASTIC.

    HIS STORIES OF WORLD WAR II AND THE INVASION OF TARAWA/MAKIN AND SAIPAN WERE ALWAYS INTERESTING IN OUR LATER YEARS. HIS GREAT HUMOR WILL ALWAYS BE MISSED.
