AKKERMAN INGEBRAND FUNERAL HOME – MORA

Richard Krummel, of Cambridge, formerly of Mora, died on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Walker Methodist Levande in Cambridge.  He was 85 years old.

FUNERAL SERVICE will be held on Saturday, January 26th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mora.

VISITATION  will be from 9:30 – 11:00 a.am. (1 1/2 hours prior to the service) on Saturday at the church.

INTERMENT will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Richard Arthur Krummel, age 85, entered the pearly gates on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 peacefully resting in the loving presence of his family.

Richard was born November 7, 1933 to Fritz and Elfriede (Grell) Krummel. He grew up on a farm outside of Braham with his brother Fred, who he looked up to and admired. After high school he joined the U.S. Army in 1954 and served until 1956. Later he met and married Boots in 1958. They moved to Graceville, MN where they had 4 children. They all moved to Ortonville, MN in 1965 and lived on Big Stone Lake until 1968. When MaBell (telephone Co.) had an opening in Mora, MN they bought a house on Wood Street where many, many wonderful memories were made. He retired in 1993 after 42 years in the phone company.

Richard is survived by his wife of 60 years, Boots; children Jim (Mary) Krummel, Kathy Johnsen and Jean (Kirk) Erickson; grandchildren Nicole (Jeremy), Anthony, Callie (Mike), Rob (Nikki), and Kyle; his brother Fred (Marlys), nieces Diane and Karen (Joe), nephews Wayne (Wendy) and Mark (Linda).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Boots’ parents and brother Wally; son Jerry and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He is in good company!

    We were so sorry to hear Richard had passed away.
    He had a great smile and always had time for talking. He will be missed by us all.
