Larry Allan Jacobson of Cambridge, Minnesota, passed away on October 24, 2018 at GracePointe Crossing in Cambridge following a long illness. He was 66 years old.

Larry was born on February 16, 1952 in Braham, Minnesota to Eugene and Betty (Nolby) Jacobson. He grew up in the Day area, attending Day country school and later Braham High School. He spent much of his growing up years, especially summers, helping his grandparents on their farm.

Over his lifetime he worked in many occupations: skidding for a logging operation, factory work, assisting his father with his lawncare business, and truck driving. He was most proud of the ten years spent as a volunteer firefighter with the Dalbo Fire Department and fighting grass fires for the Minnesota DNR. When health changes forced his retirement, he discovered the joys of fishing and woodworking.

After many years of hard living and poor choices, Larry sought help with his addictions through treatment and never looked back. At the time of his death he had enjoyed 36 years of sobriety. He became involved with the adult singles ministry at then-Maple Ridge Free Church where he met Wanda. After a courtship of 8 years (he had to be certain) they were married in 1997.

Larry is survived by his wife, Wanda; daughters Sheila Petersen (Dave Miller) and Angela Demings; grandchildren Kenzie, Carlee, Kayla, and Trevor; stepchildren Amy Kopperude, Matthew Kopperude, Jenna Rusnak; grandchildren Greta, Josie, Jack, Kamryn, Hudson, Vance, Garett and Estelle.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and two nephews, Evan and Brandon.

  2. Wanda, Butch Mary Ann and Larry’s children and grandchildren,
Losing Larry will leave a huge hole in your hearts. Time will change the grief, but you will always remember him as will his many friends. May you come together at this time, comfort each other with the GOOD MEMORIES you have which hopefully will bring you close to each other. You are in my prayers.
