Juanita Peterson, of Mora, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at the Eastwood Senior Living in Mora.  She was 85 years old.

FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church in Mora with Rev. Anthony Cloose officiating.

VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

INTERMENT will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Juanita G. Peterson died at Eastwood Senior Living in Mora, MN on Sunday, August 26, 2018. She was 85 years old.

She was born to Nettie and Halfton Kobberdahl on August 30, 1932 in Mora, MN. She lived in the Mora area during her childhood years and then moved with her parents to farms in Kanabec and Pine Co. She worked as a hired girl until she was married.

She was united in marriage to Dale Leroy Peterson on September 27, 1950 at Zion Lutheran Parsonage in Mora. She felt her most important job was being a homemaker and mother; she loved raising her three children. Her days were filled with sewing, cooking, canning and cleaning house. She always had a smile on her face while visiting with her family and friends. She was very supportive of her husband’s love for fishing and hunting.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dale, her parents, Nettie and Halfton, sisters Lauretta Settergren and Maxine Hammigan, brother Oroville Kobberdahl.

She is survived by her children Gisele Peterson of State College, PA; Joseph Peterson of Quamba; and Melissa Hennessey of Westwood, CA; sister Wanda Dresler of Mora; grandsons Nathan and Rene Kreye of Red Wing, MN; Jesse and Melissa Kreye of State College, PA; granddaughters Meghan Hennessey of Arcata, CA; and Mariah Hennessey of Chico, CA; great granddaughter Grace Kreye; and great grandsons Jack and Raliegh Kreye.

I always remember how she would just listen and smile when Gisele would stop and see me at my office. Gisele and I can really visit.
