Floyd Olson, of New Brighton and Mora, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Johanna Shores in Arden Hills.  He was 82 years old.

A GATHERING OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS will be held at a future date.

Floyd B. Olson, of New Brighton and Mora, Minnesota passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Johanna Shores Care Center in Arden Hills. He was 82 years old.

Floyd was employed as a Grain Inspector with the State of Minnesota until his retirement. He later was employed with the Metropolitan Mosquito Control.

He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed his moose, elk and deer hunting trips. Floyd enjoyed his time on the farm and garden planting and harvesting over the years. He was active in politics and a crossword puzzle fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and C. Albert Olson; and brothers, Carl, Lawrence and Howard.

He is survived by his wife Marlys; son Mark (Kristen) and daughter Tammy; grandchildren, Emilee, Carson, Adam, and Ethan; sisters, Edith Mart, Alice Zortman and Karen Wallskog; brother Robert; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

  1. My sympathy to Aunt Marlys, Mark, Tammy and families. I am so sorry for your loss. It is hard to imagine the world without Uncle Floyd’s smile and humor. I have memories of him from as far back as I can remember. He was a good man and I will miss him. Again, my sympathy to you all. Donna

  6. I am sorry I will be unable to join you at the memorial service tomorrow. Floyd was a great neighbor, as all of you (Marlys, Mark, and Tammy) have been.
