Douglas E. Olsen of Mora, died on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at St. Clare’s Living Community in Mora.  He was 82 years old.

MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 am. on Monday, July 30, 2018 at Grace Lutheran Church in Mora.

MEMORIAL VISITATION will be held one hour prior to service at the church.

INURNMENT will be in Brook Park Cemetery, Brook Park, MN

Douglas E. Olsen, age 82, of Mora, MN, passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the St. Clare Living Community in Mora.

He was born on July 2, 1936 in Garfield, WI to Einer and Ruth (French) Olsen. His family moved many times so he attended several different schools. He was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca, MN and later confirmed at Zion Lutheran in Pine City, MN. He was a member of Zion Lutheran in Mora and later Grace Lutheran in Mora.

He married Dorothy C. Lange on October 30, 1965. He worked as a sheet metal operator at Dahlman’s Manufacturing in Braham, MN until 1970 when a car accident left him disabled. He loved his cars and had several. He enjoyed working on them and was a great mechanic.

Douglas is survived by his wife Dorothy; sons Douglas (Cindi) Olsen, Daniel Olsen, Dennis (Ruby) Olsen all of Pine City; 15 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brother Virgil (Lee) Olsen of Kent, WA; sisters Arlene Wiberg of Pine City, and Vivian (Wally) Seth of Chisago City; brothers -in-law Leroy and Myron Lange; sister-in-law Donna Olsen; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Darlene Olsen; parents Ruth and Einer Olsen; sisters Leola Olsen, Agnes Klinder, Lucille McIllharge, Sylvia Mead, Delores Stabenow; brothers Lyle, Thorwald, Howard, Clifford and Milton Olsen.

  1. I worked with Doug at Industries Inc. in Mora. He was such a pleasant person, kind to all of our co-workers, a true gentleman. My condolences to the Olsen family.
