Donna G. Lindstrom of Brooklyn Center, formerly of Finlayson, was called home to her heavenly home on June 23, 2018 at the Maranatha Care Center in Brooklyn Center.  She was 88 years old.

MEMORIAL SERVICES will be held at 10:00 am. on Friday, June 29, 2018 at St. James Lutheran Church, (6700 46th Place N., Crystal, MN 55428).

MEMORIAL VISITATION will be one hr. prior to the service at the church.

INURNMENT will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at 1:15 pm. on Friday, Assembly Area #5.

Donna Lindstrom, age 88, of Brooklyn Center, formerly of Finlayson, Minnesota was called to her heavenly home on Saturday, June 23, 2018. She was born on September 17, 1929 to Donald and Lois (Windahl) Smith.

Donna met the love of her life, John Lindstrom, while working at the former Winston and Newall Co.; now Supervalu Inc. They had planned on a November wedding but after attending a friend’s wedding in August they decided they couldn’t wait. So, on August 14, 1948 they were married by a Justice of the Peace in Anoka County. Her parents insisted on them having a traditional wedding, so they “repeated” their wedding vows in a beautiful church ceremony on November 24, 1948.

Donna was a woman who loved family and friends unconditionally. She had friendships that began in grade school and lasted all her life. Everyone who knew her; knew they were loved. In the short time she resided at Maranatha Place she continued to make new friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents and her sister Lawayne.

Donna is survived by her children, Terry (Steve) Karsky, Sandi Davis, John (Susan) Lindstrom, and Patty (Dennis) Nelson; 12 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren; sister Verle (Bob) Ktytor; sister-in-law Lorraine Hygrell; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

  1. So sorry for you to hear of your Mother’s going to glory. Not having a mother to call and relate thoughts and happenings to is difficult. Look to the Lord, He will see you through.

  2. My thoughts are with the Lindstrom family. In the bible we find hope and comfort. Ps. 34:18 “God is close to the brokenhearted; he saves those crushed in spirit.”

  3. I’m deeply sadden to hear if your lost. May God continue to give you strength, grace and his mercy throughout this time in your lives. Your family is in my deepest thoughts and prayers

  4. I am so sorry to hear of Donna’s passing. My mom has lost her very dearest friend since grade school. I pray that Donna is smiling into the loving face of God. God bless you all.
