GATHERING OF FRIENDS will be held from 3:00-5:00 pm on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the Rock Ingebrand Funeral Home in Braham.

INURNMENT will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Raymond LeRoy White, of Stanchfield, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at his farm in Stanchfield. He was 93 years old.

Raymond was born on December 19, 1924 in Fairmount, North Dakota to parents Charles A. and Mayme (Harn) White. He grew up on the family farm but was drafted into the United States Navy on April 10, 1943. He was stationed on the USS Beale as a coxswain on the skipper’s gig. He traveled to numerous ports throughout Southeast Asia during WWII. He was discharged on February 14, 1946. Raymond was united in marriage to Sharon LaBeau. In October of 1966, the family moved to a farm in Stanchfield where they embarked on the adventure of becoming dairy farmers. Ray loved the farm and was always sneaking new animals home.

In his later years, Ray took a job as a groundskeeper for the Grandy Nine Golf Course. He tended to the course for over a decade before retiring. Sharon loved the many birds that came to the farm and Ray continued to take care of “her birds” after Sharon’s death in 2007.

Ray was an active member of the Braham VFW, serving as post commander for several years. He enjoyed watching baseball and cheering on the MN Twins. Ray will be remembered as a generous man; he helped his neighbors and friends when they were in need. He was always willing and ready to help his children and grandchildren in any way he could. He will be greatly missed by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Raymond is preceded in death by his parents; wife Sharon; daughter Lauren (Guy) McKenzie; siblings Roger, Roberta, Alva, Wilbur, and Olive Mae.

He is survived by his children, Cheryl (Bill) Johnson of Plymouth, Charles (Heike) of Stanchfield, and David of Mounds View; grandchildren, Eric (April), Anthony (Dayna), Alexander (Chelsey), Jeffery (Dylan), Ashley (Andy), Zachary, and Cher; great grandchildren, Aiden, Elizabeth, Greyson, Rowan, Colton, and Zeke; brother and sister-in-law, Bill (Diane) LaBeau and Phyllis LaBeau; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

  1. So sorry to hear of the loss of your dad, Cheryl. If my memory is correct, my dad used to pickup your dad’s milk. Thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

  2. I was saddened to hear of your dad’s passing. I graduated with Lauren and was just thinking of her the other day as I believe she had a June birthday. Your dad is now together with Lauren and Sharon. Keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers.
    Sincerely, Char Graham

  3. Cheryl, so sorry for your loss. My parents just called and told me. I use to be Cheryl Ekleberry and you came to the farm a lot. My parents Joanne and Orlo ekleberry now live at Grace point Nursing home in Cambridge. We will keep you in our prayers
