ROCK INGEBRAND FUNERAL HOME – BRAHAM

Barney Falls, of Braham, passed away on Friday, June 1, 2018 at his home in Braham.  He was 85 years old.

MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 8, 2018 at the Braham Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Julie Beck officiating.

MEMORIAL VISITATION will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

INURNMENT will be at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Brunswick at a future date.

Barney Dean Falls, of Braham, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 1, 2018 at his home. He was 85 years old.

Barney was born on October 30, 1932 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Frank and Victoria (Emanuelson) Falls. He took a job working for Knutson Construction in 1950, but only a few months later, he entered into the United States Army. He served in Korea until 1953 and was later honorably discharged in 1954. Barney returned home and to his job at Knutson Construction.

On November 5, 1955 Barney was united in marriage to Mary Westin. They lived in Mora for a short time before making their permanent home in Braham in 1956. They were blessed with 3 children. Barney retired from construction in 1985, but continued his love for building and woodworking. He built many roll top desks, shelves, cabinets, and other projects for family and friends over the years. In his younger days, Barney enjoyed fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling. He also enjoyed trips to the casino and spending time with his family.

Barney is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Lorraine (Joe) Stitz, Darlene (Dick) Riech, Dorothy (Ralph) Stahnke, Elray Kunde, Frank (Joyce) Falls, and an infant brother Bruce Falls; sister-in-law Bertha (Harold) Erickson; brothers-in-law, Vernon Evenson and Hank Bobo; nephews, Karl Erickson and Donald Falls.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary; children, Karin Menning of Florida, Alan (Lori) of Pengilly, and Cheryl (Greg) Ethen of Little Falls; 10 grandchildren, Jason Larson, Harmony (Robert) Cumberbatch, Jeremy (Velvet) Falls, Joshua Larson, Brandon (Tracy) Lucht, Corey Falls, Christopher (Amy) Torgeson, Tony (Angie) Lucht, Bradley Falls, and Diana (Andrew) Johnson; 17 great grandchildren; sister Stella Bobo of Braham; brother Donald (Joan) of Longville; brother-in-law Jim Kunde of Minneapolis; sister-in-law Betty Evenson of Mora; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
