Ronald “Ron” Olson, of Mora, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2018 at his home in Mora.  He was 79 years old.

MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the Mora Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses (1897 Commercial Place, Mora, MN 55051).

MEMORIAL VISITATION will be held one hour prior to the service.

Ronald Warren Olson, of Mora, Minnesota, died on Friday, May 4, 2018 at his home. He was 79 years old.

Ronald was born on December 27, 1938 in Mora to parents Orville C. and Stella (Swanson) Olson. He married Paula LouAnne Hanson on February 19, 1970 and was a warm and loving husband.

Although he was raised in another religion, important to him was the day he was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on November 8, 1969. Ron was an elder for many years in the Mora congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and loved talking to people about the Bible. He loved all of Jehovah God’s creations. He was very active in his faith and spent many years overseeing construction of Kingdom Halls in Michigan, Wisconsin, North Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota.

Ron graduated from Mora High School in 1956. Soon after that, He went to California and got a job at Pacific Bell. During that time, he enrolled at the University of Southern California taking up electrical construction study and became a member of IBEW. When he moved back to Minnesota, he continued his education at Dunwoody Institute. Ron became a master electrician and worked as an electrician until he retired.

Ron liked music and dancing. He also enjoyed snowmobiling and had an interest in flying. Ron enjoyed riding motorcycles and went on many tours throughout the United States with Paula.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Kenneth and Orville Olson; and niece Joan Fluegge.

He is survived by his wife Paula, sisters and brothers-in-law, Jan Rush, Ardy (Tim) Bussiere, Virgil (Marlys) Hanson, Jerry (Shirley) Hanson, and Sally (Jared) Pearson; many nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
