Emily (Anderson) Cole, of Braham, MN died on Tuesday, March 20, 2018. She was 25 years old.
MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held on Sunday, March 25th at 3:00 p.m. at Akkerman-Ingebrand Funeral Home in Mora.
VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Emily Kirsten (Anderson) Cole of Braham, MN passed away on March 20, 2018. She was 25 years old.
Emily was born on March 7, 1993 in Hutchinson, MN to Lisa (Anderson) Thompson. She attended Cokato Elementary School until the family moved to Mora in 2001. She fulfilled her dream of going to Africa during the 2010 school year by being awarded a scholarship to be an exchange student in Cape Town South Africa. She attended Edgemead High School in Cape Town South Africa from January 2010 – August 2010. After which she came home to Minnesota and finished school, graduating from Mora High School in 2011. She was active in band, drama club and the Kanabec County Ambassador Program. After high school she attended PCI Academy in New Hope and became a Licensed Cosmetologist and currently was working at Great Clips in Cambridge, MN.
In February 2015 she moved to Pensacola, Florida. In August of 2016, in Midway, FL; Emily met her husband, Shawn. On November 2, 2017 they married in Sisters, Oregon after she completed four months hiking the Pacific Crest Trail.
Emily found great joy in spending time with her family, friends, other loved ones and her dog Taz. She was outgoing, spontaneous, adventurous, and passionate about Christ. One of her favorite things was getting her little brothers all wound up before bed. Emily enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, camping, traveling and interacting with her clients. Another great passion she had was her love of history and archaeology.
She was a wonderful wife, daughter, sister, granddaughter and friend. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Emily is preceded in death by her grandfather Dennis R. Anderson; uncle Dennis J. Anderson, and aunt Laura Tvedt.
She is survived by her husband Shawn Cole; mother Lisa (Shane) Thompson; grandmother Karen Anderson; step grandfather Terry Thompson; brothers, Isaac Slyter, Dennis Thompson, Henry Thompson; sisters, Amanda (Mike) Wilde, and Zoe Burau; step sister Amanda (Matt) Janecek; nephew Kolbjörn Wilde; uncles, Dan (Sharon) Anderson, Joel Tvedt and Shannon Thompson; as well as many other relatives and friends.
