Mar-Jean was born August 6, 1924 in the Maple Ridge Township and after three months of being ill went home to be with her Lord on March 12, 2018 surrounded by her family.

Preceded in death by parents, Martin & Jennie (Peterson) Anderson; infant brother, Clarence; sisters, Evelyn Peterson and Mavis Mattson; and her infant daughter, Suzanne Louise Vickstrom.

Survived by loving husband of 70 years, Gordon; children, Sue (Ron) Peters and Sandy Isachsen; grandchildren, Craig Peters, Chris Peters, Emmy (Kevin) De Silva, Amber Isachsen; great-grandson, Jet De Silva; and many relatives and friends.

She was a caring, loving and supportive daughter, wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma.

She grew up on a farm by Day, MN and graduated from Braham High School in 1942. She spent most of her work life as a bookkeeper in MN (and in CA). On July 12, 1947 she married the love of her life, Gordon, and they had three daughters together. She was devoted to her family in every way. She was known for her smile. They moved around until settling on a farm in Coin, MN for 14 years; then moved to Brooklyn Center for 21 years. At retirement (1986) they built a new home on 40 acres in the Day area. They were members of the Lewis Lake Covenant Church. In July 2017 they moved to Riverwood Terrace in Cambridge, MN.

  1. It was wonderful to have Mar Jean and Gordy as neighbors. I will forever remember Mar Jean’s smile. It was a gift to know her and be touched by the joy and warmth that emanated from Mar Jean.
We celebrate with you her life and memory and mourn with you in your loss, may your memories sustain you, may you be surrounded by the love of family and friends and may our Lord grant you peace.
