Richard Edward Koran, of Mora, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at the Elim Home in Milaca. He was 79 years old.

Richard, or Dick as he liked to be called, was born on June 28, 1938 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Edward and Helen (Torok) Koran, the oldest of 4 children. He attended Mechanic Arts High School. As part of his high school classes he also attended St Paul Technical Vocational Institute. When he graduated he received his high school diploma and a degree in printing.

With his printing degree he got a job at Quality Park Products and worked there as a printer/pressman and a supervisor for over 38 years and that’s where he met Pauline. Dick and Pauline were married almost 59 years.

After retiring from Quality Park Products he worked at Grand Casino Hinckley as a security guard for 5 years. He loved his job because it gave him lots of time to talk to different people. He was a people person and could talk to anyone. He had a great sense of humor and was always telling jokes and stories.

He took his family camping every weekend until they parked their trailer at Fish Lake Resort and spent their weekends there. They liked the lake so much that they sold their home in St Paul and bought a house on Fish Lake. He loved fishing and hunting. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Connie, and son Troy, who went to heaven just 12 days before his dad.

Dick is survived by his loving wife Pauline; children, Tammy (Daniel) Suchy, Terri (Douglas) Stone, and Tim (Christine) Koran; daughter-in-law Colleen Koran; 13 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brother Mark (Cathy); sister Diane (Gerald) Lalla; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
