Roy Foust, of Brook Park, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at the FirstLight Health System in Mora.  He was 86 years old.

FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church in Mora with Rev. Rick Marcy officiating.

VISITATION will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the church.

Roy Alvin Foust, of Brook Park, died on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at the FirstLight Health System in Mora. He was 86 years old.

Roy was born on March 15, 1931 at home in Warman, Minnesota to Clarence and Ella (Bassett) Foust. He was the second oldest with two brothers and three sisters.

Roy worked many years farming and helping other farmers. After moving to Braham, he delivered milk. He joined the Navy and trained at Great Lakes in VA. After training, he was stationed on the Mediterranean Sea and trained as a Gunner man after receiving training in Rhode Island. After his discharge from the Navy he was a wheelsman for the Pittsburg ships on the great lakes, carrying iron ore.

Roy met his wife, Clara Stegeman and they were married on December 13, 1952. They were blessed with four daughters. Roy went to work as a maintenance and boiler engineer at Farmers Coop for 26 years until it closed. He went on to be self-employed in refrigeration, boiler maintenance and as a welder in seven states until he retired. He also built and wired three homes. Roy loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping or just a stroll in through nature.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Sandra Foust; sisters, Pearl Spense and Florella Smith; and brother Albert Foust.

He is survived by his loving wife Clara, daughters, Deborah (Darrell) Baty, Lori (Dan) Robinson, and Leia (David) Burzynski; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; brother Vernon; sister Kathleen Lade; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    My nieces and nephew were blessed with one of the best grandpa’s ever! And Leia to have such a wonderful man as a daddy, I know you know you were blessed also.
    Clara no words, just love and hugs being sent your way.. I’m honored to have known and loved Roy dearly!

  4. Just heard of Roy’s passing. You may not remember me, but Sandra babysat me and my sisters. I remember your family fondly. I’m sorry for your loss. I pray the sweet memories you have of Roy give you comfort during this difficult time. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.
