John Conlon, of Mora, passed away after a long battle with Parkinson’s on Saturday, July 1, 2017  at the St. Clare Living Community in Mora.  He was 76 years old.

MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mora.

MEMORIAL VISITATION will be held from 5- 7 pm on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the Akkerman Ingebrand Funeral Home in Mora and 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.

INURNMENT will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Mora.

John Thomas Conlon, of Mora, MN, passed away on July 1st, 2017 at the St. Clare Living Community in Mora.

John was born on August 2, 1940 in Saint Cloud, Minnesota to Myldred and Vincent Conlon. John is one of four children, including a twin sister, an older sister and a younger brother. He attended Cathedral High School in Saint Cloud, graduating in 1958. After high school, he attended one year of college before joining the Army Reserves. Later he met June Eiken and they married on February 2, 1964 in Minneapolis. They moved to Crookston, MN where the oldest of their three daughters was born. They moved to Mora after 3 years and had their two remaining daughters. John was employed for many years with Farwell, Ozman, and Kirk as a hardware salesman. He was a member of the Mora Fire Department for 26 1/2 years; the last few years as Assistant Chief. John was also a member of the Legion Club in Mora and the Jaycee’s. John was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and was very dedicated to his family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

John was preceded in death by his parents; nephew Steven Bluhm; and brother-in-law Allen Bluhm.

John is survived by his wife June of Mora; daughters Suzanne (Travis) Siverson of Eden Prairie; Jody Conlon of Inver Grove Heights; and Holly (Kurt) Hallstrom of Chisago City; grandchildren Jack, Reese, and Olivia Hallstrom and Cade and Jace Siverson; siblings, Kay Bluhm, Jeannie Reinholz, and Bill Conlon; stepmother Adeline Conlon; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

  2. Dear Sue and family, I’m so sorry to hear about your Dad’s passing. I’m very sorry. I have good memories of him when I was a teenager. He had a hardy laugh, was quick witted and never let teenage boys feel too comfortable. He will be missed. Love and prayers. Brian
