Richard Allen Dahlberg passed away on February 25, 2017, at Signe and Oliva’s in Ogilvie, surrounded by family, caring staff and hospice. He was 66 years old.

Richard was born on February 15, 1951, in Mora, MN, to Raymond and Betty (Claassen) Dahlberg. He grew up on the family farm north of Ogilvie and graduated from Ogilvie High School in 1968. He worked at Fingerhut in Mora for 32 years.

He will be remembered for being very knowledgeable about nature, from raising fruit trees to being an avid hunter, fisherman and birdwatcher. He was interested in aeronautics and was a scale model airplane enthusiast, he built and flew many radio controlled planes. This is something he enjoyed sharing with others, putting on exhibitions of flight for family and friends. He also enjoyed working outside, from caring for his property and large yard to operating his own sawmill after retiring. His mind was always active, whether working on his next project or relaxing with a jigsaw puzzle.

Richard never went anywhere without his faithful companion, Scotty, who passed away last year.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Betty Dahlberg, and his sister, Laura.

He is survived by his brothers, Larry (Joyce) Dahlberg of Fargo, and Steve (Cathy) Dahlberg of Mora; nephews and nieces, Chad (Melissa) Dahlberg; Christine (John) Mehl, Ken (Katie) Dahlberg, Michelle Dahlberg and Daniel (Jenna) Dahlberg; great nieces and nephews Jena Mehl, Aodán Mehl, Grace Dahlberg, Espen Mehl, Karly Dahlberg, Cormack Mehl, Fletcher Mehl, Matthias Mehl, and Drew Dahlberg, as well as many other relatives and friends.
