Janice Ciszewski, of Mora, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at her home.  She was 66 years old.

GATHERING OF FRIENDS will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 pm  on Monday, November 14, 2016 at the Akkerman Ingebrand Funeral Home in Mora.

INURNMENT will be held at a future date at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

MEMORIALS are preferred to St. Croix Hospice.

Janice Ann Ciszewski, of Mora, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at her home.  She was 66 years old.

Janice was born on August 17, 1950 in Saginaw, Michigan to Robert and Byrile (Gast) LaLonde.  Born the 5th of 6 children, Janice grew up in Saginaw.  While in school, she met Robert Ciszewski and on August 16, 1969 they were united in marriage.  Janice and Bob lived on several different Army bases over the next two years until Bob’s discharge in 1971 when they returned to Saginaw where they raised two sons.  From 1977-1979 the family lived in Buffalo, New York before moving to St. Paul, Minnesota in 1980. In 1983 Janice and Bob made Mora, MN their final home. 

In her younger years, Janice loved to garden and raise animals on the farm.  She had a talent for crocheting and made many gifts for family and friends.  Janice was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1982 and unfortunately the cancer came back again in 1989. She has been strong and fought until her final days.  She will be dearly missed.

Janice is preceded in death by her parents, and 5 siblings.

She is survived by her husband Bob; sons, Robert Jr “Bob” (Jennifer) and Anthony “Tony” (Shannon); grandchildren, Logan Ciszewski, Shalyn (Chris) Prestidge, Jessica Ehrler, and Quinn Ciszewski; great grandchildren, Ivy, Caleb, and Hailey; many other relatives and friends.

  1. Jan was a good friend and a great neighbor. I will remember her for her beautiful smile and her warmth and generosity for all my days. She loved her family whole heartedly as they have loved her. May God always watch over them.
