Rex G. Lindberg, of Mora, formerly of Minneapolis, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at the FirstLight Health System in Mora.  He was 78 years old.

A GATHERING OF FRIENDS will be held from 1:00 -4:00 pm on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at the Kanabec History Center in Mora.

Rex Gary Lindberg, of Mora, formerly of Minneapolis, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at the FirstLight Health System in Mora.  He was 78 years old.

Rex enjoyed being a part of the photography club, the garden club, and the art association.

Rex is preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Marion (Kadlec) Lindberg.

Rex is survived by his wife Dee Kotaska of Mora; son Erik (Stacie) Lindberg of South Haven; daughter Stephanie Porter (Tom Eddie) of Edina; grandchildren, Madison, Maverick, and Maxwell; brother Steven (Sharlene) Lindberg; niece, Naja (Hannibal) Hayes; nephew Jason (Ashley Fairbanks) all of Minneapolis.

    I knew Rex from the Anytime Fitness Silver Sneakers exercise class in Mora and was shocked to hear of his passing.
    In class he often had a funny comment to make and I will miss him, as I’m sure everyone else there will.

    I was so sorry to see that Rex had passed, Dee! I so enjoyed when you and he visited the shop. He always had a smile and kind words for everything. A gentle, wonderful soul,has left us, with a huge, huge whole… How thankful we are to have known and loved him… Words are unable to express our grief for you, his beloved, and for his beloved family…Praying for comfort for you, and all… we just loved him so….I will miss his genuine hugs, his smile, and listening to the way he saw the world,…..he brought us a special kind of joy….

    I’m very sorry to hear about Rex. We were classmates as University of Mn, Wildlife Majors
    and roommates at the Itasca courses. What a great and fun friend he was.

    Shocked even weeks later I still recall Rex. I have also known him from our childhood days, and what a great
    gifted generous person he always was. He will be missed by many, both humans and the animals he loved so much. My condolences to you Dee and close family.
