Emma Hermanson, of Braham, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at GracePointe Crossing West Gables in Cambridge.  She was 97 years old.

FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 3, 2016 at the St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Braham with Rev. Tim Renstrom officiating.

VISITATION will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

INTERMENT will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Mora.

Emma Hermanson, of Braham, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at GracePointe Crossing- West Gables in Cambridge.  She was 97 years old.

Emma was born on February 11, 1919 at home in Kanabec County, Minnesota to parents Henry and Catherine (Wieben) Hansen.  She was born the second youngest of seven children, and attended school in Ogilvie.  On November 20, 1935, Emma was united in marriage to Helmer Clarence Hermanson in Mora.  They made their home north of Mora and were blessed with six children.  Emma and Helmer moved a few times over the years, but stay around the Ogilvie, Princeton, Isanti, and Braham areas.  After Helmer’s death in 1979, Emma remained close to family and spent her final years living at Park Manor and Elmhurst Commons in Braham.

In her younger years, Emma loved to garden and canned a variety of fruits and vegetables to provide for her family.  She was a wonderful cook and baker.  Every day you would find her in the kitchen making meals and providing homemade bread and rolls for her family. She loved listening to music and was an avid card player.  In her later years, she would collect seeds from various fruits and flowers and enjoyed watching them grow.  Most of all, Emma loved her family and friends.  She will be missed.

Emma is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sons, Ronald and Lester Hermanson, 4 grandchildren, Richard Olson, Matthew Thomas, Christopher Hermanson, and Michael Hermanson, 1 great grandchild, Crystal Hermanson, 6 siblings, Pieter, Maria “Mary”, Erna “Anne”, William “Bill”, Johnos “John”, and Albert.

She is survived by her children, Darlene Olson of Mora, Linda Wynalda of Ogilvie, Betty (Curtis) Thomas of Braham, and Allen Hermanson of Braham; 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
