On August 28, 2016; Robert ”Mitch” Mitchell, age 79, died of natural causes at his home in Mora.

He was born in Mora on October 11, 1936 to Cordelia and Carl Mitchell.  Mitch attended Mora High School and lived his entire life in the same community.  Mitch married Barb Frank in May of 1974 and celebrated over 40 years of marriage.

His 39 years of employment at Gorham-Oien created many humorous stories which he loved to share over holiday dinners.  Mitch was a proud member of the Pipefitters union for 54 years. He enjoyed fishing, ham radio, biking and watching Nascar but his most rewarding time was spent on the mission trips with his wife.  Mitch helped start Mitchell-Ministries with Barb and together they went to Africa, Guatemala and the Philippines. He helped distribute medicine, build churches and dig wells to provide fresh water for the needy.

His friends and family will miss his stories, his sense of humor and most of all, his big heart.

Mitch is survived by his daughters, Jyotti (Frank) Thueringer and  Pasang (Dylan) Mitchell Coker; grandchildren Mitchell (11) and Amelia (4) ; sisters, Cordelia (Jim) Stenstrom and Linda (Dale) Ingvaldson; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Barb, son Jimmy Lotz and parents Cordelia and Carl Mitchell.

While we grieve his parting, Mitch lived a full life and left us to join his beloved wife.
