Alf Lange, of Ashland, Kentucky, formerly of Ogilvie, Minnesota; passed away on Monday, August 8, 2016.  He was 62 years old.

FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ogilvie with Rev. Marc Freiberg officiating.

VISITATION will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

INTERMENT will be in the Graceland Cemetery in Ogilvie with Military Honors provided by the Ogilvie American Legion Post #640.

In lieu of flowers, Alf has asked that donations be honored to his grandchildren Logan and Hannah Suico for college funding.  Desco Federal Credit Union 455 Armco Road, Ashland Ky 41101.

Alf Johan Lange, age 62, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 8, 2016.

He was born in Madison, WI on November 13, 1953 to the late Paul and Luella Lange. He graduated from Ogilvie High School in 1971. He served 6 years in the United States Air Force.

Alf started working for the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Sandstone, MN as a guard.  He also worked at USP Leavenworth in Kansas and FCI Pekin in Illinois, before retiring at FCI Ashland Kentucky as the Facility Manager in 2010.  He served 27 ½ years with the Bureau of Prisons.  While in Sandstone, he also served as a volunteer fireman and EMT which he thoroughly enjoyed. Alf was very active in the churches he attended serving as Sunday school teacher, Elder, Vice President and President of the congregation. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, hunting, and was a loyal Minnesota Vikings Fan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Linda; a daughter Amanda Suico (Alex) of Ashland, KY; a son Blake Lange of Ashland, KY; two grandchildren that he loved dearly Logan and Hannah Suico; brother David (Nancy) of Rosemount, MN; two sisters, Karen Katke (Gordon) of Ogilvie, MN; and Paula Doering (David) of Mora, MN; mother-in-law Leona Carlson of Mora, MN and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and dear friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Luella Lange, brother George (Wanda) and their son Robert, brother Calvin (Fiancé Joyce Otteson), father-in-law John Carlson and brother-in-law Brad Burk.

    Alf was a good friend during high school in Ogilvie. The Lange and Pearson families were close and did many things together in the 1960s. I regret that I seldom saw him in recent years. My mother, Bernie Murphey, and I extend our sincere condolences.
