Gary Alden Crider of Braham, MN, formerly Coon Rapids, MN, died unexpectedly on Friday, April 8, 2016. He was 63 years old.

Gary was born June 8, 1952 in Eagle Bend, MN to parents Kenneth and Erma (Johnson) Crider. Gary spent most of his childhood in Coon Rapids where he eventually met his wife, Susan Freyholtz; they married on July 14, 1973.

Gary worked many different jobs in workshops and factories that led him to become a self-employed carpenter by trade around 1982.  He named his business “The Carpenter’s Tool Box”. This allowed him the ability to build his own home for him and his family in 1986. The house he built moved with the family when they relocated twice, finally residing in Braham. Gary loved his job and took pride in the craftsmanship of the work he did.

Gary also took interest in aviation and faithfully attended the annual Oshkosh Airshow in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

Gary is preceded in death by his father and step-mother Kenneth (Catherine Arnold) Crider and mother and step-father Erma (Dean) Larson

He survived by his wife of 42 years Sue Crider; daughters Elaine (Jaric) Crider, Elise (Mike) Crider; siblings Jean (Gary) Carlson, John (Jean) Crider, Tom (Maureen) Crider, Larry (Brenda) Larson, and Nancy Larson; uncle Lester (Karen) Crider; mother and father-in-law Florence and Wilbert Freyholtz; as well as many, many other lifelong friends and family.
