Dorothy Watson, of Mora, MN, died on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at her home.  She was 88 years old.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.

Dorothy (Randall) Watson, age 88, passed quietly on March 22, 2016, in her lakeside cottage in Mora, MN, which she shared for many years with the love of her life, Larry Watson.

Dorothy was her independent self – right to the end, expressing thoughts to her children Beck Sweeny, Mike Watson (Kathy), Chuck Watson (Cheryl), Wendy Mickman (John), Dan Watson (deceased) (Pat).

After nurturing her 5 children to school age, Dorothy embarked on a successful 25 year career with Control Data in Cambridge, MN. Retiring to their lake home in Mora, MN, she served on the Board of Directors for the Kanabec County Senior Federation and was honored to be the Kanabec County Volunteer of the Year. Volunteerism, flower gardening, crocheting; she had many passions. It was Dorothy’s wish that it be known she was a great lover of cats!

Dorothy and Larry were blessed to be grandparents and great grandparents many times over.

Dorothy’s wish was not to have a funeral service, but rather a ‘Celebration of Life’ later this spring.

We wish you well Dorothy; you were loved by many.

  1. Terry and I want to send our condolences in regard to the passing of your mom. Terry would say she was like a second mom to him while growing up and hanging out with the Watsons. Chuck you’re like a brother to Terry and Wendy you’ve always been the little sister!
Your mom was an amazing woman and was always helping the animals of the world especially cats! I remember admiring her flowers as we would walk around the her house to take a peek!
Please know that we are thinking of all of you at this time of loss with lots of love.
