A. Sundermeyer webphotoAudrey Sundermeyer, of Braham, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at GracePointe Crossing East Gables in Cambridge.  She was 92 years old.

FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Braham.

VISITATION will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

INTERMENT will be at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery at Rush City.

Audrey Eva Sundermeyer, of Braham, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at GracePointe Crossing East Gables in Cambridge.  She was 92 years old.

Audrey was born on June 8, 1923 in Watertown, Minnesota to parents Henry and Ethel (Theis) Goede.  The eldest of 3 children, she attended school in Watertown, until the family moved to a farm in the Braham area when Audrey was a teenager. 

At 18, Audrey was united in marriage to Stewart Gutzkow.  They were blessed with six children.  Audrey worked as a cook in the Braham Hospital for many years before it closed.  She then began cooking at the Braham Elementary school, working until she retired in 1985.

On August 27, 1963, Audrey was united in marriage to Lester E. Sundermeyer. The couple enjoyed dancing in their younger years.  Audrey was a longtime member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Braham.  Audrey’s favorite hobby was shopping, which she enjoyed with her family and friends.  She will be dearly missed.

Audrey is preceded in death by her parents; sons, Gary and Kenny Gutzkow; daughter Sharon Kennedy; granddaughter Rocia Lucht; sister Lorraine Goede; and Brother Jerome Goede.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Lester; sons, Earl (Sally) Gutzkow, Henry (Roxann) Gutzkow, and Steve (Luann) Gutzkow; step-daughters, Pam (Tony) Jorgenson and Becky (Don) Dolezal; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; also many other relatives and friends.

    Dear Audrey’s family,

    So sorry to hear of Audrey’s passing. She was a very special person.
    I remember what a very hard worker she was and how very much she loved all you children.
    I also remember how much the children in school loved her.
    She always had a big smile for everyone.

    Audrey’s Family
    Please accept my condolences to you all. She was such a good person.
    When ever I’d drop in she’d always say how about some coffee and
    immediately put on a pot of coffee. Our thoughts and prayers are with
    you all. She will be missed.
