Pete Tracy of Mora died on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Eastwood Senior Living in Mora. He was 75 years old.
FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mora.
VISITATION will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the Akkerman – Ingebrand Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Prayer service will be at 6:45 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
INTERMENT will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Mora.
Peter C. Tracy of Mora, Minnesota, passed away with his family at his bedside, on October 25th, 2015 at Eastwood Senior Living Center. He was 75 years old.
Pete was born December 4, 1939 in St. George Township in Benton County, Minnesota to Peter and Agnes (Dorr) Tracy. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic Grade School and Sauk Rapids High School, graduating in 1958.
He was employed at Farm Service Feed Mill and St. Regis Paper Mill, where he met Pat Zimmer.
On September 11, 1965, he was united in marriage to Pat at St. Peter and Paul Church in Gilman, Minnesota. Pete had built a cabin on Island Lake near St. Joseph, Minnesota and this was their first home.
He and his family moved to Mora in 1969 where Pete was employed at U.S. West, now Century Link, for 30 years.
Pete was a member of the Mora Volunteer Fire Department for 21 years, becoming first a Captain and then Assistant Chief. He appreciated working with these men to serve the Mora area. One of his favorite hobbies was spending time in his wood working shop, building special projects for his kids and grandkids.
He loved family time, enjoyed vacations, holidays, and other gatherings. With his friends, he enjoyed a good game of cards or shaking dice.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Kathy Kenning.
Pete is survived by his wife of fifty years, Pat; daughter Debbie (Tim) Anderson, Emily (Chris Lund), Max, Kennadie and Tayah; son Dan Tracy, Danyelle and Jake; daughter Donna (Thomas) Leonard, Jocelyn, Courtney, Sophie and Mitchell; sister Barb (John) Fandel; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mora. Interment was at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
