Nina Lee, of Mora, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Eastwood Senior Living in Mora.  She was 86 years old.

FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mora.

VISITATION will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm on Tuesday, October 27th at the Akkerman Ingebrand Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.

INTERMENT will be in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Nina M. Lee, age 86, of Mora, died Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Eastwood Senior Living in Mora, Minnesota.

Nina was born on December 20, 1928 in Virginia, Minnesota to August and Nettie (Little) Beste.  Nina graduated from Roosevelt High School in Virginia in 1946. At age17, she began her career at Northwestern Bell in Eveleth, where she resided until her move to Mora, Minnesota in 2009.  She worked for the phone company in Eveleth and Virginia until her retirement.  Nina married Leonard Lee on October 6, 1951.

In Nina’s many years as a member of the First Baptist Church of Eveleth and the United Methodist Church of Eveleth; she served in several ways. Her faith guided her entire life.  Nina had an active lifestyle and in her younger days she enjoyed skiing, swimming, golfing, and bowling. She and Leonard were enthusiastic Twins fans. They loved to travel and enjoyed musical concerts. Nina’s favorite moments were those spent with her family and she adored being a grandma and great-grandma. Nina was a generous and hospitable person and was known for her smiles at the assisted living communities she resided in for the six years she lived in Mora.

Nina is survived by her daughters, Lisa (Doug) Stegeman of Mora and Lyn Lee of Edina; grandchildren, Melissa (Adam) Noreen, Mark (Trista) Stegeman, and Christy (Kyle) Fletcher; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Marilyn) Beste of Brookfield, Illinois and Tom (Jean) Beste of Eveleth; sister Cynthia Seck of Bloomingdale, Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents August and Nettie Beste; husband Leonard Lee; grandson, David Stegeman; and brothers, Jim, John, and Bill Beste.

    Lyn – I saw your mother’s obituary in the MDN this AM. I send to you my sincere sympathy in your loss. I have great memories of being at your house and enjoying the time I spent there. I just wanted you to know, I remember, and I am thinking of you during this difficult time. I’d love to hear from you.

    Lynn and Lisa- I am so saddened to read of your mom’s death. Although I didn’t know her well, I thoroughly enjoyed her when she was living at St. Clares. I was reminded every time that I saw her what a lovely person she was. My sincere sympathies.
