Milton W. Koelsch, of Hopkins, MN, died on Thursday, June 25, 2015. He was 89 years old.
FUNERAL SERVICE will be held on Monday, June 29th at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 4240 Gettysburg Ave. No., New Hope, MN.
VISITATION will be held one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday at the church.
INTERMENT will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Milton Wordsworth Koelsch, age 89, of Hopkins, MN, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2015 in St. Louis Park, MN.
Milton was born on March 15, 1926 in Milaca, MN to Arthur and Mabel (Rudisel) Koelsch. He grew up in Douglas, MN until age 14. He graduated from Rochester High School in 1944. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy Air Force and served his country from 1944–1947 during World War II. Upon his return he attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering and graduated in 1951. He met Donna Joan Erickson in Milwaukee and they married on June 28th, 1952 at Garden Homes Lutheran Church. They had two children. Milton and Donna lived in Milwaukee in the early years of their marriage before moving to Hopkins, MN to settle and raise their family. Milton was employed as a Mechanical Engineer at Cronstrom’s from 1953-1960 and then at Orr-Schelen-Mayron from 1960-1991. When Milton and Donna retired they moved to St. Louis Park, MN. Milton was an active member of Timothy Lutheran Church and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. He loved the outdoors. He was a lifelong gardener, golfer, hunter and fisherman. Milton was a wonderful husband, father, brother and grandfather. He will be truly missed.
Milton was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Donna; brothers LaVerne and Thayne; and sister Bonabel.
Milton is survived by his children Nadine (Jim) Ingebrand, Scott (Cindy) Koelsch, grandchildren Sarah and Lauren Ingebrand, Matthew, Erin and Sam Koelsch, sister-in-law Violet Koelsch, sister Mardell (Harold) Zuercher, nieces, nephews and friends.
