John Michael Golly, of Braham, passed away on June 1, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was 56 years old.
John was born to Darell and Donna Golly on April 8, 1959 at Kanabec County Hospital in Mora, MN. He grew up on the family farm and was the third of six children.
John attended Braham Schools and graduated early in 1977. That same year, on April 15th, he was united in marriage to Linda Doffing. To this union three children were born.
John spent most of his working career expanding and perfecting his mechanical gift. He also spent time driving truck or lending a helping hand on his son’s farm, watching him expand it year by year. He also enjoyed helping out on his friend Mike’s farm.
John truly enjoyed working around the homestead; planting crops, milking cows and repairing his farm machinery. He also loved to take “spur of the moment” trips to Duluth to watch the ships come in and out of port. He liked fishing and hunting but his greatest love was visiting with his grandkids and giving them rides on his tractors and skid steer. He will be truly missed and remembered in our hearts and memories forever.
John was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold and Helen Golly and Grandma Aggie.
He is survived by his wife Linda of Braham; children, Heather (Jason) Olson, Keith (Sarah) Golly, and Ann Golly (Andrew Campbell); grandchildren, Logan and Taryn Olson; Wyatt, Makenzie and Bridget Golly; Darren Brekkestran and Joey Campbell; parents Darell and Donna Golly; parents-in-law Cliff and Helen Doffing; siblings Randy (Joann) Golly, Deb (James) Shockman, Lois (Ken) O’Brien, DJ (Christy) Golly and Kathy (Dave) Tomlinson; plus many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Visitation and Gathering of Friends was held on Friday, June 5th at Rock-Ingebrand Funeral Home in Braham. Arrangements were handled by Rock-Ingebrand Funeral Home of Braham.
