Gordon G. Grell, of Braham, died on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at home. He was 85 years old.
FUNERAL SERVICE will be on Monday, April 6, at 2:00 p.m. at the Braham Community Center. Rev. Beverly Robinson will officiate.
VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service on Monday at the Community Center.
INTERMENT will be at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Rush City, MN.
Gordon Glen Grell, age 85, of Braham, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at home with his wife by his side.
Gordon was born May 3, 1929 on the family farm to Fred and Frieda (Guetzkow) Grell; the second oldest of 12 children living his whole life in the Braham area. In his early years, he was a milk hauler and farmer. In his later years he was a truck driver for Leaf Construction. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and spending time with family.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; 2 infant grandchildren; brothers, Duane, Wesley, Eugene; brothers-in-law, Kenny Fredin, Floyd Ziesmer, and Joe Davis; sister-in-law Ester Grell.
Gordon is survived by wife Debbie, his children, DeVona (Tom) Petz, Roxie (Dennis) Doyle, Dean (Julie) Grell, Glen (Tracy) Grell, Connie (Irwin) Frizzell, Nikki (Paul) Dahlquist; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth (Bethie) Grell, Carlie (Ellie) Grell, Melvin (Kendall) Grell; sisters, Lucille Fredin, Janice Ziesmer, MaryAnn Davis, Katen (Tom) Pearson, Sandy (Ross) Davis, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Funeral Service was held at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 6, 2015 at the Braham Community Center with Beverly Robinson officiating. A eulogy was given by Michael Doyle. Music was provided by Jim Hill and Audrey Davis with songs, Amazing Grace, On Eagles Wings, and George Strait’s I Cross My Heart. A luncheon has served at the Braham Community Center following the service. Casket Bearers were Walter Frizzell, Tony Frizzell, Matthew Grell, Dustin Grell, Aaron Petz, Evan Petz, and Michael Doyle. Interment was in the St John’s Lutheran Cemetery near Rush City. Arrangements were by the Rock-Ingebrand Funeral Home of Braham.
