Ray Rippentrop, of Mora, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at St. Clare’s Living Community in Mora. He was 81 years old.
MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 9, 2015 at Grace Lutheran Church in Mora with Rev. Douglas Larson officiating.
MEMORIAL VISITATION will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
INURNMENT will be at a later date.
Raymond George Rippentrop, of Mora, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at St. Clare’s Living Community, in Mora after a 19 year battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was 81 years old.
Raymond was born February 16, 1933, in Lennox, South Dakota, to the late Peter and Bertha (Anderson) Rippentrop. He owned and operated a Café in Chancellor, South Dakota prior to serving in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956 during the Korean Conflict. Raymond married his wife, Doris, in 1953.
He worked in a variety of occupations. He farmed in Milaca, MN and worked at the Milaca Creamery. In 1966, he moved to Brunswick, MN where he operated the Brunswick Creamery, and later owned and operated the Brunswick Store and Implement. In 1970, Ray and the family moved to a farm north of Mora where he continued to farm, and also drove school bus and worked in law enforcement.
Raymond is preceded in death by his parents Peter and Bertha Rippentrop; infant daughter Reta Rippentrop; grandson Ramie Stegeman; brothers Donald and Roy Rippentrop; and brother-in-law George Wegner.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife, Doris, of 61 years, children, grand-children and great-grandchildren. Brother, Russell (Marilyn) Rippentrop, sisters, Pauline Wegner (John) Beird, Joan (Ernest) Brown, LaRae (Rodger) Marshik, and sister-in-law Lois Rippentrop; also many nieces, nephews, others relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church on Friday, January 9, 2015, at 1:00PM with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Music will be provided by Betty Smith and Barb Seaton. Inurnment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN at a later date. Arrangements are by the Akkerman Ingebrand Funeral Home in Mora.
